The LED strip and the remote have minds of their own

A short length of LED, with a comprehensive remote control offering lots of different options. However, the remote control does not communicate with the LED strip properly, please see video, the green and blue buttons are the wrong way round and the yellow and purple buttons are also the wrong way round. I haven’t downloaded the app as it didn’t seem worth it with the colour choosing issues. The LED strip is of the IP44 waterproof type with the clear coating over the lights, but I don’t see this fact in the listing, which says they are indoor ones. Strangely, there is one light on the strip that is different to the others, it appears round when lit rather than square as the others are (see photo). Very odd. However, the white is actually white, as many other LED strips have a blue tinge to the white colour. The adhesion is rubbish, getting the backing off the adhesive strip was tricky to peel off, I actually started to peel off the whole adhesive strip by mistake, and once I managed to peel the thin paper backing off I found the stickiness of the glue strip is poor, I do not think it would stay up long on a vertical orientation, only OK on something horizontal. All in all, this item is a bit rubbish all round.Update: I have now installed them behind our pub fridge, and they are quite nice on the multi-colour variable setting, I would like to have extended them but unwilling to purchase more add-ons due to the issues as above. However the adhesion was better than expected and they have stayed in place so far.

A very versatile lighting system
This is a very versatile lighting system which comes with a remote control allowing you to choose the colours and brightness of the light and how it changes over timeIt’s USB powered but the USB cable is very short so you’ll need a USB extension cable.It can be controlled via Bluetooth using and app – the instruction leaflet includes a QR code to scan for this. The app seems pretty self explanatory and works well.The Amazon product description says that it’s possible to control each pixel of the light strip separately but I can’t see how to do this.The lighting strip is self adhesive and the glue seems strong

A nice length set of lights which are easily affixed to any surface with the adhesive backing to the light strip.The lights are easily controlled via the remote control and have a wide variety of lighting patterns to chose from. You can have stable single coloured lights or slow to fast and even reacting to various musical beats.The strip can be run from a battery pack or usb plug or computer / tv usb port, making it versatile as to where it can be located.The app is easy to use and provides more functionality for the lighting than the remote.A great light strip with amazing light patterns which are ideal for setting mood lighting or use at parties or attracting attention at craft fairs.

These are great, nicely made, great options, and look so great.In the box you get the reel of lights (1 mtr in total), remote control, power connector and great instructions.The reels really great (excuse the pun) to keep these neat and tidy, they come off and instantly lay flat, they seem to have a bit more weight than others we use in our dance parties.Connects straight up to the power supply that also hasd the infrared control linked, ready for the remote control. Only small gripe is the short length to the USB plug, it’ll need an extension, but thats not the end of the world.Wow are they great colours, vibrant and so many hues… instantly look great.The remote control, full to the brim with options for colours, speed, brightness (from low to ultra bright – check out the video), frward/reverse pattern, plus several built in modes. They’re great and going to look fantastic on the dj desk at our parties twice a month.You can also load an app which has even more options on including design you own.You can set them to music mode so they are working to the sounds around ….You can link more strips to them, just clip them on the end, that simple, we will be buying more to complete what we need.Nice, professionally made and put together

Perfect length
Got this to put around the inside of my fireplace.Easy to install and looks pretty good.Good for the money too.Many options for different colours etc. you definitely won’t be disappointed.

High Flexibility but not easy to control
I’ve had a few different sets of similar lights and these do feel higher quality than some – mainly I think because instead of simply being a strip of LEDs on a thin backing, these also have a clear flexible soft plastic covering which makes them easier to keep clean and to handle. It does mean that potentially it may not “bend” round corners as well, but I guess that’s where the ability to extend the system comes in.The down side of having the clear covering on them is that it retains heat so they do get fairly warm.My main issue with these is that although they’re highly controllable, down to individual leds, the app is very confusing and, other than setting up, there are no instructions for using the many app settings.When I first connected, I used purely the remote – which worked well, however, most of the solid colour options were wrong. Only red and yellow buttons actually provided the red and yellow colours – the rest seems to be all swapped around. I had the same issue when trying using the app.I then went into the app settings to try and find a way to reset the colours, and somehow managed to completely clear the option of being able to switch between solid colours, and no instructions on how to reset to factory settings.I generally think of myself as fairly “gadgetty”, but these were just way beyond me. I don’t know if I’d got one that was just incorrectly set up, or if I broke it somehow – I’ll hand it off to my son and see if he can make heads or tails of it, but generally the theory and the lights themselves are great – but the app and the remote just let it down.

Super bright and super colourful!
This a superbright LED strip light with remote control and Alexa/Google assistant controls tooWhen you open the pack the first thing that strikes you is how small this kit is compared to other light strips you might get.The light strip itself comes on a little tiny wheel to keep it tidy. Simply take it off the wheel and apply the strip light where you would like it using the sticky adhesive back.With any LED lights I’d always say to also use other methods to keep them attached to the surface and this applies with this kit tooSetting up the lights is a breeze and when you turn them on for the first time it’s a real joyous moment that puts a smile on your face as they’re so bright, and so colourful!There’s a myriad of options for using them, including sound to light which is fun, and all kinds of colour combinations but you can simply choose the colour you want to use as you would with other light stripsSo red, blue, green, pink etc – just choose and away you go – super brightIn short an easy to use, very impressive light kit – definitely recommended

Bright (adjustable brightness) multi-mode LED strip let down by faulty remote control
I love the capability of not only bright and vivid colours, but that the intensity is adjustable and that strobing, pulsing, colour-changing modes can be adjusted to be fast or slow. I do not appear to be alone in finding that some of the buttons on the remote control have the wrong effect. Red, White, brightness up and down as well as fast / slow seemed to be the ones that all worked OK. I experimented with a very similar sized remote control that works fine with other lighting and also found button mis-match with some of the same solid colours. I have no interest in putting it through its paces with voice, music or app control, as think it would be too frustrating. I am not a lover of fast flashing, strobing or pulsating lights, but found that slow mode operation at a low intensity of some of the colour changing effects semed to be less intrusive and created a nice mood. Despite its limitations, I anticipate employing just this one metre of extendable strip for some party occasions, possibly powered from a power bank. The power lead incorporates a three button control, that offers a lot of possibilities without using the remote control. Listed @ £9.99 per metre, it represents good value for adding a bit of colour lighting, and since only one remote control is needed, the 4m kit @ £14.99 would be a very good buy. Like many similar LED strips, the adhesion is so weak that the weight of the end lead can cause a few inches of strip to detach, but this is easily resolved with a bit of VHB tape.

Really decent light strip, though it’s a shame the controller unit is only included with the 1m length and not the other sizes. Maybe be better if it was sold separately so you could get the controller with the longer strip sizes.The light strip has many functions, I tried to show them in the attached video, you can switch the light modes on the control box plug, the supplied remote, or with a smart assistant (like Alexa or Google) though I couldnt figure out how to do that.Overall its a good light strip, though compared to others on the market it is slightly expensive if you want more than 1m of lights.

Decorative LED extendable LED light strip with many display options
This is a 1m LED light strip that comes with a controller box and remote control. It can be extended up to 5m with additional strips.It needs to be powered by a USB supply and I used a power bank. The IR remote control offers 10 different display modes as well as being able to mix colours manually and set a power off timer. An interesting bonus is the music sync mode that has 4 different patterns that respond to music or any other sound.I haven’t tried it, but there’s also an app that gives even greater control over the lighting options and Alexa/Google Assistant compatibility.Overall, a very flexible and expandable LED strip at a good price.

Great Item of you ignore the app
This is a great little strip light, the colours are really vibrant and the versatility of the programmes is great. However I could not get the app to connect and tried multiple times to figure it out but to no avail. I probably would still buy more of these as I’m happy just to use the remote that comes with it (which is similar to most other led colour changing lights/bulbs).

App very lacklustre, but lots of potential
I use a lot of smart home stuff, including with Home Assistant and Amazon Alexa. I was really excited to order these especially as they are individually addressable LED at a really good price.The instructions state that they use Bluetooth to communicate which when I read I was hoping I could use the Home Assistant Bluetooth integration. Unfortunately the LED strip does not show up when scanning for Bluetooth devices, this is the same in iOS and on Android.I downloaded the app from the app store and the first thing it asks for is location permissions. Which seems excessive (unless it can do Geo-Fencing). Within the app, you can see it’s all very early development. Very clunky to use. I was able to get the app to see the lights by allowing nearby devices independently of the set up wizard.It’s a shame, because the processor on the strip seems to respond well, and when it’s doing a fade between colours along the strip it looks really nice. I will keep experimenting with this as I really like the idea of the addressable LED’s, especially with the Christmas period.
